Second Weekend of SpiritPlants Radio Programming

The second weekend of SpiritPlants Radio programming is just about ready, the website's schedule is updated (http://spfradio.yage.net). The major change is that "Within's Within" will be on twice each day not three times. One new show, one classic, save on the weekends I take off, like this one, when there will be two classic shows. This move allowed for the jazz, electronica, and rock shows to be expanded each day from one to two hours each. I think this will work better.

Thinking about theme weekends for every so often, like an all Grateful Dead weekend, or an all psychedelic lectures weekend. When my show has its 10th anniversary next January, I think there will be an all Within's Within weekend, hehe...

Also working on getting the station a low-kps stream for people on dial-up.

It's a lot of time and effort but so far is worth it, the six-weekend experiment goes on...

Re-Launch Weekend & 5th Anniversary Weekend concluding

Well, it went on air, on time, some technical glitches along the way, a fair number of listeners, and now it is near finish. It was good. I learned a lot. Comes down to content, promotion, and technical issues. Big topics each of them. Might make adjustments to next weekend's scheduling. But a success. The work and time put in was extensive, but it was a success. Whoot!

Spiritplants Radio Website is Updated

What a long time since the radio page was updated, but it is, as of now.

It's not a fancy site, but it is up to date and functional. I worked on it much of today. Satisfying that it provides in one place what is need to listen to the station and get some sense of those involved.

SpiritPlants Radio 5th Anniversary & Re-Launch This Weekend! (11/22/2008)

A lot has happened since the last post to this blog. The nickel summary is that the radio station is on course for its 5th anniversary & re-launch this weekend. Among the many shows scheduled are a jazz show featuring a live John Coltrane performance from the early '60s; the underground superhero comedian Bill Hicks; a Pink Floyd show from 1970; a lecture by Terence McKenna from 1994; and a reading of Jack Kerouac's novel, On The Road. My show, "Within's Within: Scenes from the Psychedelic Revolution," will be on, both a new episode and a couple of classic ones from the archives. Also, a brand new SpiritPlants Radio exclusive program, to be hosted by DJ Lain. More details on all of this and more to come in the next few days. Very excited!

Well, it's been over 2 1/2 years since this blog was last updated or added to. My name is Raymond and I host "Within's Within: Scenes from the Psychedelic Revolution" every Saturday on SpiritPlants Radio. My 3-hour show is about all that is left of the station...until this month, Nov 08, my show's 5th year on the air. Also time to get more programming.
